On 15/8/2009, and sponsored by the CINU, Sheikh Adnan Burhan al-Juhaishi set up a racing contest for 3km distance for a group of sportsmen from the districts of al-Sweirah, and al-Azizia, and from the areas of al-Hafriyya and al-Shehemiyya. The race was held on Tigris bank in the village of Sheikh Adnan, attended by a group of clan Sheikhs and Dr. Othman Ibrahim, at the end gifts were allotted to top 10 winners.
