Hashim Al Fahid
.1.
O white camel driver
You've stirred the woes
In singing
Be kind with us
And search for a change
In things
Ideas and names
For in politics lies
The temptation
.2.
Winds rent
The tents
And darkness descended
In my country
Say what you see forthrightly
My sir
For all the livings should hear
My woe
To all bloods
.3.
We've been tampered by our avidities
And the rash desire
So some
Hearts have become
Like compact rock
Ah for them
Appeal
No more heard
Had not seen
Privation and sorrows
And hope dried up
.4.
Where have gone the brunet men
O where the fidelity
For whom
My brothers
You fight?
Do you know?
My sirs
Your whims have misled you
Or the curse of the heaven
.5.
Some of you, brothers
Optimistic,
And some pessimistic,
What I had to say?
Am not good at satire
Ah to Baghdad
Inflicted with epidemic
And enemies
