The CINU and woman participation in politics ?€¦ experiment and practice

Dr. Yousif Ahmad Sheikh Bzini

The Iraqi people, and since he experienced the taste of freedom, was and still in constant motion in its service and exerted his best for its sake despite many attempts that worked to set him apart from it via seeding doubt in his heart, weakness in his determination and high spirit especially after the awakening echo of the CINU came to him, thus the pioneers began raising him, men and women, on genuine national education and eventually it paid off and borne fruits, hence the CINU became a reality for many experiences in politics, and a pioneer in the field of interests in Iraqi woman, among these experiences is the experience of the CINU especially the project he took up to bring Iraqi woman back to the reality of Iraqi society, make her see her patriotism, duties and mission as is the case also for her rights granted by Islam to her… the CINU and since its proclamation has put in his mind the case of woman admitting boldly that woman has a case for she was wronged and her rights aggrieved and she was removed from the social and cultural scene so she could not perform her role as it should do and thus was left behind and accordingly the whole society has retarded with hers, whereupon suspect enemies took advantage of this gap and could infiltrate through it to mislead and filled her with suspicion about her work and patriotism even in her religious creed, as such the CINU has recognized that the most important tasks of his is to advance Iraqi woman and restore her positive role in life by engaging her in all his national, cultural and political  ventures and open venues to her to grow and mature intellectually and culturally and perform her awaited duties. However, Iraqi woman has proved de novo herself in the framework of a reformist moderate Iraqi party and when she was given the opportunity to carry out her family, national and political duty, she obtained with merit the honor of membership in the conferences held by the CINU and since the first organizational congress convened on 19/8/2009 in Kirkuk under the title (to perform our duty without a watcher) as a unique model on the Iraqi political arena, and it was a good prospect, so in the first conference there were many expectations before having been held, and inquiries about the changes that would come out of it including: is the congress bringing something new for woman? Is it possible to raise the question of allocating a percentage for woman in the political work? And in other centers and organizational committees… and as happened in the elections that ran in Iraq in 2005, this expectation had a reverberation in the congress, wherein a number of conferees called for a percentage allotted to woman commensurate with her undeniable presence in the CINU, a positive indication of a sound thinking about the important role awaiting to be performed by the Iraqi woman in the national venture, as well as it clearly pointed out to mature awareness and pertaining advancement in the ranks of  the CINU, while giving themselves momentums that strengthen the determination on the course and be a practical experience for actual participation and serious contribution to the political process and emphasizing what God the Exalted  has bestowed upon woman of potentials and capabilities, and the other reason was the desire of sister members to be representatives and strongly, namely, to be elected and nominated much like their counterpart men, and not to represent women only; however, the clearest indication of this ambition and its becoming into a practical reality, which made this experience prettier and deeper than the confidence granted to woman leaders. After we have gone through this first experience I would say, and I wish from all who cares about this home country and wished to see it stable, prosperous, and advanced, to adopt the case of the ill-fated Iraqi woman in all contemporary living domains and not to leave her to those tampering with her political, family life and eternal mission.
