The so-called national conciliation

Wadie Fadhil al-Qasimi
Media officer of the CINU

Slogans of national conciliation were raised in the previous period, and during the presidency of the Premiership Mr. Al Maliki, this outwardly glittering national slogan was a glimmer of hope for many Iraqis who felt somehow optimistic, but and after the passage of time, where days and months passed with no palpable sign of development of these hiked slogans hoisted but were simply an illusion woven by the current politicians in power and their authoritarian parties in their imagination for electoral campaigns, narrow partisan gains where nothing has been applied nor a change whatsoever has taken place, and thus policies of marginalization and exclusion remained prevalent and for large segments of the society not for anything they committed but because worked with the ex-regime at varying levels of responsibility, and whatever their responsibilities were they are still the children of this country who suffered greatly the brunt of war, siege and experienced mental derangement, hunger, destitution and deprivation, and today policies of marginalization and exclusion are practiced against them, so how today is similar to yesterday. Thru this exclusionary marginalizing process the country has lost a lot of its experiences in various fields, which, had they been operative we would not have come up to the situation we live today, and what made matters even worse, acclaiming illiterate and holders of fake certificates to replace these experiences thereby boosting destruction and havoc.

Then, the so-called reconciliation raised today is simply an electoral slogan and electoral campaigns in order to gain the trust of this or that side, and win electoral votes. But these people have missed that Iraqi people today is more aware to let such tricks pass by or fool them and thus promoters of these campaigns came to warble outside the flock.

But we in the CINU, and since the early days of the regime fall we called for a comprehensive national reconciliation and openness that does not exclude anyone because reconciliation should be concluded with all even with those who still do not believe in the political process, so the door is wide open and for all, that is, the national conciliation which does not exclude any class for another or one party for another. We are with everyone who believe in Iraq, and let Iraq be the first and foremost because Iraq is the foundation, and the love of Iraq is unmatched by any other love, hence, Iraq is above ideology and creed. And from here, the embodiment of real national reconciliation significations is the complete, perfect and optimal solution to all troubles we suffer today.
