The Iraqi National Unity Association announced since the beginning of the fall of the previous regime that it is committed to the rational solid ideas that guide us to achieve our pursued objective in accordance with the decent national approach. This pushed the Association to continually hold the slogan of (dialogue rifle) because it is the safest and best method to face the situations and developments on the Iraqi floor instead of using unjustified violence. This is also done because the Association believes in the necessity of active national participation in due to the sensitive nature of this phase and because it deeply senses the Iraqi population requirements in light of its absolute rejection of terrorism and in lights of its believe in the necessity of the national contribution in diagnosing, sorting and sensing the deteriorating situation on the political Iraqi field. Because of all of the above, the leadership of the Iraqi National Unity Association under the chairmanship of Dr. Nahro Mohammad Abdul Kareem Al-Kasanzan Al-Husaini, head of the Iraqi National Unity Association and discussed the following throughout many meetings: The political situation in Iraq, those internal and external risks that are raising many questions and what the national stand requires… the association, with its composition of all national spectra, and religions on Iraq deemed it necessary to send out an honest national message that expresses Iraq’s legitimate requests. Based thereupon, the Association decided to conduct peaceful demonstrations throughout all Iraqi governorates including Kirkuk (but it was postponed there due to the security situation). Those demonstrations are expressing requirements of the majority of the Iraqi population which suffered a lot from terrorism and vandalism.
Those demonstrations were launched on Thursday 15 January 2004 all at the same time at 10.00 a.m. heading towards governorates’’ headquarters and to the civil governor representative in Iraq, Paul Premier. Those demonstrations honestly expressed the decent national feeling in the hearts of all members of the Iraqi National Unity Association. United signs were held throughout the governorates. Those signs emphasized decent national unity that rejects terrorism in all of its forms.

All members of the Iraqi National Unity Association who went on one day throughout the governorates of Iraq is the real expression of the Iraqis determination and national perspectives of this view. United letters throughout the governorates were submitted to representatives of the civil governor in Iraq/ Paul Premier. This united letter included the attitude of the Iraqi National Unity Association and its accurate look towards the necessity of paying attention to all important political and population requirements as they effectively contribute in creating stability and security in Iraq. The letter addressed to the civil governor in Iraq includes many paragraphs. The letter follows herein below:
Attn.: Mr. Paul Premier/ Civil Governor in Iraq Esq.,
Dear Sirs,
Our Iraqi National Unity Association with its varied composition that includes all national spectra, and religious schools in Iraq, are going out today throughout Iraq’s governorates on peaceful demonstrations to express the requirements of the majority of the Iraqi people which was severely harmed by terrorism and vandalism. The requirements of all demonstrators in the Iraqi National Unity Association are as follows:
First: We demand an actual representation of the Iraqi National Unity Association in the resources of making political decision. We demand limiting the monopoly of power and all tries to neglect the real democratic spirit.
Second: Clarification of power transfer mechanism, reveal specific methods of nomination to give us a chance and to give the largest number of neglected effective national powers a chance too.
Third: We call for taking necessary time upon making decision that affect Iraq’s unity, destiny and political future. Making such decisions should be postponed until forming an elected national government.
Fourth: We demand lifting all prejudice and injustice practiced by some certain parties which have representation in the authority against parties and other national powers. Therefore, we hereby demand respecting peculiarities of each party, not to jeopardize their civic esteem, opening their headquarters, granting them political immunity and official IDs that prevent them from being questioned by any authority other than the judicial authority.
Fifth: Limit individuals elimination (killings) which turned to an organized terrorism used by some parties against their political opponents.
Sixth: Give the actual and real dimension for the national reconciliation by returning university teachers and other academics.
